The photographs in this exhibit belonged to Harold Jackson, a young man who worked as a steward on the Titanic. Because he did not have room to bring the photograph collection with him on the voyage, they along with some of his other possessions were sent to New York ahead of the Titanic's sailing. While Jackson's photos arrived safely in New York aboard another White Star Line vessel, he perished along with many others when the Titanic sunk.
The photographs have belonged to members of Harold Jackson's family since their arrival in New York. The Flagler Museum thanks the Vincent Gueci family for allowing their use, and Steven Silver for his assistance in the production of this exhibit. Objects from the Titanic and other White Star Line ships are from the collection of Ron Walters.
